Jesus gives us one of the simplest—and most freeing—pictures of the Christian life.
He doesn’t say:
“Produce more fruit.”
He says:
“Abide.”
Branches don’t strain to produce grapes.
They stay connected to the vine.
Everything the branch needs flows from its connection.
The same is true for us.
Our greatest responsibility isn’t becoming stronger on our own.
It’s remaining close to Jesus.
This changes everything.
Instead of asking, “How can I be enough?”
We begin asking,
“How can I stay close to Jesus today?”
The fruit takes care of itself.
Reflection Questions
- Am I striving or abiding?
- What helps me stay connected to Jesus?
- Where do I need to simply trust Him today?
Prayer
Jesus,
Help me stay connected to You today. Teach me that abiding is not passive but deeply relational. Produce Your life in me.
